Welcome to the COTI Homepage

A Greeting from the COTI President

Distinguished site visitors both at home and abroad:
I cordially welcome you to the Central Officials Training Institute (COTI).
As COTI President, it is a great pleasure to have this opportunity to extend greetings and regards.
Since its founding in 1949, COTI has served as the driving force behind the quest for sustained national development through public service training and development.
Today's national development of Korea can be attributed to its dedicated and diligent public officers as well as the strong will of its people. These achievements are the actual products of their blood, sweat, and tears.
In the process of national development, COTI has become a focal point where government officials gather to discuss and implementpolicy alternatives with regard to the national agenda and pending issues.
COTI now stands ready to take on various challenges in order to write a new chapter of success in Korea's history. Passing the 60th birthday of the Republic of Korea, the Korean people aspire to make the nation an advanced country.
The past year was truly a memorable year for us. The Republic of Korea was able to stand tall in the international arena by hosting the G20 Seoul Summit. Korea has now emerged as a nation that helps to establish the international order, rather than one that always has to follow others. The country has also been exemplary in overcoming the economic crisis.
Based on what we have achieved thus far, we in Korea are continuing our efforts to foster greater national development.
Since I assumed the post of COTI president in May, 2010, COTI has worked tirelessly to serve as an instrument for leading change in public service. We have refocussed our priorities and have a new sense of urgency for getting results from government administration through recently innovated public service education and training.
In line with the Lee Myung-bak administration's new operating paradigm, COTI has adopted a new vision of being a "Leadership Center for a Greater Republic of Korea" that inspires public officials to "Think Big, Think Fast, Think Fair."
It is my firm belief that improved public service training can change the destiny of a nation. As such, civil servants must be fast learners in order to keep up with new trends and cope with emerging challenges and the rapidly changing work climate.
In this light, we have identified new training needs and have revised, to a great extent, the training system, contents, and operation of our programs.
I look forward to your continued support and interest in Central Officials Training Institute

Eun-key Yoon Ph.D.
COTI President
